So. Mama Pat bailed his ass out. She put up five pieces of property, totalling $1.1 million, for a 900K bail.

Will he (heh) stand “pat,” or will he run? I am guessing he is confident in his ability to snow the jury once again, and will stay. Who knows–he may need Mama again some time.

Of course, we need to remember that, now that he has obligingly got up on the stand and testified, he has finally locked hmself into a story. All it takes is proof that any part of his account is false, and down he goes. I think that the prosecution should be analyzing the footage of his testimony very carefully, with the help of body language experts and http://blog.eyesforlies.com/. I am aware that neither of these analyses can be admitted in court, but at least they can let the prosecution know where to hammer.

Please…somebody hammer at this lying areshole. I know that confessions on the stand are rare…Perry Mason aside…but wouldn’t it be awesome?

“Look at these pictures, Mr Young. Now you know as well as I that those photos are not of the same shirt. Can you please explain to the jury why the police didn’t find this shirt in your luggage? After all, your mother did swear under oath that nothing was unpacked or left at her house in Brevard…”

“Just why did you not claim the life insurance you bought and paid for?”

“Why did you tell two different people two different stories about your stay at Hillsville?”

“Please demonstrate for the court how you reached a twig to put in the hotel door.”

I hope the judge will instruct the jury in the legal definition of “reasonable doubt,” and that they get a jury smart enough to apply it, instead of insisting that the case be proven to the standards of a fictional crime show.

Gojo has yet to weigh in on the current situation.

It is so hard to believe that, after debating a little over 10 hours, the jury was irrevocably hung! I guess they don’t run juries like “Twelve Angry Men” any more.

Still, I have to believe that the prosecution didn’t present their case as well as they could have. The insurance policy was never mentioned. Surely greed is a motive that the jury could understand. Then, there was the sweater. They didn’t emphasize that the important thing is that it wasn’t in Jason’s luggage. They didn’t actually emphasize a lot, except for Jason’s infidelity. And really, people…spouses are unfaithful all the time, without committing murder. I don’t know…it just seemed like the prosecutor didn’t bring her “A” game.

So, there’s going to be a retrial. I hope. Because Jason Young killed his wife.

There are some plusses for the prosecution. They have Jason locked into a story. Now they just need to disprove it. They also know what didn’t work.

So, let’s go! Let’s get this thing up and running again. Michelle and Ryland deserve Justice.

We shall see.

Now, ain’t dis nice!

Gojo and his daughter put themselves smack dab in the middle of this case from the very beginning! His daughter was the visit control officer for the Young clan when the Fishers visited with Cassidy. His daughter was touted by his very own self as a counselor who was going to help Michelle’s child get through the horrible aftermath of her father’s actions.

In short, Gojo, you AND YOUR DAUGHTER deserve everything they get on any board extant where this case is being discussed.

Your history of threatening people whose opinions you fear goes back to the early days of the investigation. You tried to get reporters fired from news outlets. You succeeded in getting one poster fired from her job, and attempted the same with others.

Wow! I just had a thought…did you ever come after me? Oh well, probably not–after all, I’m not a heavy player in this case, just an opinionated curmudgeon.

Did the defense just shoot themselves in the foot with their oh-so-brief cross examination of Linda Fisher? So Jeanne Goins Dulworth was the one who told Linda that she wouldn’t see Cassidy again unless she publicly backed Jason. Wonder if Jeanne will be called to the stand? Is she another one of Jason’s girlfriends along with Michelle Money and Carroll Ann Sowerby? I’ll bet Western Carolina University is proud to have her on their staff. Imagine the future students who google Western Carolina University and get the cache links of this trial. Certainly could have an impact on Western Carolina’s image.

I thought I’d bold it, just so nobody misses it. Here’s another:

Her name is Jeanne Goins Dulworth. On another site someone coined the term “supervising bitch” which I find extremely funny because it seems to fit. Sticking her foot in the door when Cassidy went to the bathroom? Telling the Fishers that if they don’t toe the line and back Jason they won’t see Cassidy again? She works for Western Carolina University. I’m sure they’ll be thrilled to be forever attached to her in google searches by potential students.

~~and for this, Gojo calls the poster a “bitch” and wants her personal information so that he can find her. For what purpose, I wonder, does John Goins want to find this poster? Judging from his nasty pejorative, it’s not to congratulate him or her on his or her intelligence and insight.

Nope. Like Gerald, Gojo wants us to think he will kill in defense of his family. In all actuality, his defense consists of nasty sneak attacks on the poster’s credibility and livelihood. The apple, it seems, doesn’t fall far from the tree. Too bad he didn’t raise a family worth defending.

“Ain’t Gonna Be No Trial” became the mantra of the Gojo-man. “Ain’t Gonna Be No Trial.”

I wonder how many times he had to say it over and over in order to fall asleep at night.

Well, Gojo, here’s your trial. We got to hear Meredith, Linda, Heather, Pat, and the Golden Boy, himself. Four hours, Jason defended himself, answering questions tailored to the prosecution’s assertions. Some of his answers were pretty stupid. The twig in the door, frinstance. Uh huh. Did he not realize the jury would see those photos? Is Stretch Armstrong Jason’s alter-ego? And what about the cigar thing? He must have known that lie could be easily disproved. Especially since one of the provisions of the Cassidy agreement was that she would not be exposed to tobacco smoke. Please! Still, he was all boyish charm, wasn’t he? Facially animated, gesturing…I could see the salesman, and he did a damn fine job of hawking his purported innocence. The fun part, though, is that nobody is buying. It’s just not credible for a man to say he loves his wife, while systematically boinking every woman in sight. It was funny (in a sick sort of way) when the comments on the boards ran to, “OMG…ANOTHER ONE????

Oh. And then, the trial was going to exonerate Jason.

I realize that the verdict is not yet in but, really, people!

I mean…who else is there? Gojo and others tried to make the case for Meredith as the possible killer, as well as unidentified strangers. The latter makes no sense at all…the overkill indicates some intimacy between the victim and the killer. It takes that to produce enough anger to do that much damage. I think we all understand that, hence the attempt to smear Meredith, as the only other person close enough to Michelle to inflict that much damage.

Seeing Meredith on the stand should have allayed anyone’s concerns about her sincerity and honesty, especially in contrast with Jason’s sales pitch. No longer can Gojo sustain the Jason-Moral-Mountain-Man image. He sent his wife an anniversary card virtually from the arms of his mistress! How very loving, Jason! He had sex with at least three women outside of his marriage.

He lied and lied, and lied. I am so glad he got on the stand. I’m glad his mother and sister did, also. We may have got a glimpse into the psychology of this family. This jumped out at me…Jason was allowed to tease and terrorize his sisters, which Pat chalked up to “love.” I have to ask, what kind of love is this, that is expressed in cruelty and abuse? Because that’s what it is. It’s verbal, psychological and emotional abuse. Love, my ass!

But, I digress. The trial. Personally, I think it’s probably never a good idea for the defendant to taked the stand, unless he can be completely open and honest…i. e.., innocent. This one, for all his boyish charm, was not particularly convincing.

I’d love to see Eyes For Lies’ take on Jason’s performance.

Oh, for heaven’s sake, Gojo! RPD did not impugn the skills of the state forensics lab. He merely mentioned that there was new info from new tests. You’re the one who thought the investigation would be called into question. Damn, you are a slimy two-faced bastard, aren’t you? Nobody suggested the police planted evidence. We all shed skin cells and hairs wherever we go. If you ain’t shedding, you ain’t human.

I have seen nothing in either warrants or a timeline that suggests that Linda and Meredith entered the house between the time it was released just after the middle of November, and the time Jason’s family entered it at the end of the month. I do remember reading something about Kim (or another Young family member) calling Meredith to come by the house to get some of Michelle’s things, and then leaving her locked outside, and driving off.

Please back up your claim that the Fishers were inside the Birchleaf house before anyone else, after the crime scene was released.

Still Fighting the Not-Good Fight

As one poster pointed out…nowadays we can post from the party! Isn’t it amazing that discussion of a trial can be more important than partying? I can just hear it…music, the clinking of glasses, the murmur of conversation…and there is Surfside or Wyn or Janetruth glancing through the comments on her phone and typing in a comment between canapes. When a non-crime-obssessed guest asks, the commenter will say…”It’s my broker,” and the other guest will nod understandingly.

This conceit of Gojo’s that there are two sides to Surfside6 goes back quite a long way. Because she looks at both sides of any given question, Gojo actually likes some of her thoughts as expressed in her comments. When that happens, of course he is reading “smart Surfy.” Whenever she says something he can’t argue, he claims he’s talking with the “other one.” he fails totally with the lava rock. Lava rock being somewhat soft (for a rock), it could well have some sort of mark left on it from being crammed in the door. It’s not as if it’s obsidian!
I doubt the defense is through with Mere yet. Don’t you reckon
they will recall her?

You really need to quit beating that dead horse, Gojo. Meredith (not Mere, Meredith) has nothing to say that will help Jason’s defense. He discarded any hope of that when he gave his daughter up to her without bringing out all the things you claim about her at the custody hearing. Did you notice in her testimony that she was SURPRISED that he did that? She was hoping to achieve visitation, and she got the whole banana because Jason was not willing to open his mouth in defense of his rights as a father. Now, if his defense is going to claim that Meredith had something to do with her sister’s murder, your boy has some ‘splaining to do!

While I have no doubt we are going to hear things no one has ever told us, I don’t think they are what you think they are. You are still spinning decidedly unclever twisted Gojo theories that don’t make sense. Remember, we have been telling you for years: The truth makes sense. If it doesn’t make sense, it’s not the truth. As for Jason and Michelle’s Living Will, PLEASE look up the legal rules on Living Wills. The clause that would have sent Cassidy to live with Heather would have applied ONLY if Jason and Michelle were both deceased. Why is this fact so difficult for you to grasp? Jason is not dead. You did figure out that part, right? The living Jason made the decision that keeping his mouth shut was more important than retaining custody of his daughter. He in fact, permitted her to be handed over to Meredith; the very same Meredith that you STILL seem to think has something that will help in his defense!

Please try to keep a grip on reality, Gojo, no matter how tenuous.

Ring-swallowing incident…ditto the rascal.
Jason’s drunken party incidents and problems caused in marriage…he was such a prize, wasn’t he?
Therapist; issue of divorce?…this testimony will be interesting, to say the least.
Jason’s emails to Kim after the murder…all that stuff about the fuss dying down and blowing over–what husband of a murdered wife wants that? Consciousness of guilt again.
Behavior toward Michelle’s family after murder…ditto.
Abandoning Raleigh home…ditto.
Failure to file claim for Michelle’s life insurance…huge. Nobody takes out a cool mil in insurance and then doesn’t claim it.
Moving on; not attending memorials or contributing financially to funeral or headstone…truly a prince among men.
Trolling for dates on Internet using pictures with Cassidy…so cute.
Refusal to allow Linda Fisher to have contact with Cassidy…Just WHAT was he so afraid Cassidy would tell her?
Giving up custody of Cassidy…also huge. No father does that without a very pressing reason.

Many of these things can be individually explained or spun away, but, together, they will lock Jason Lynn Young up for the rest of his life, no matter what the moot one says.

The Once and Future Gojo

Without a trial, Jason would have this case hanging
over him for the rest of his life. No way to “get on
with his life”. I reckon we all want Justice
for Jason’s wife and baby. I came here for that.

Let me put it this way, Scout: I think Brad Cooper got shafted
by that jury. I reckon the same thing might happen to
Jason, too. I hope you will ask me again after we see
what the persecution has to say. So far, I only know
part of the evidence.

I just heard that the judge seems to be a no-nonsense guy
who will keep the lawyers on task. Good to hear.

Cooper got “shafted,” did he? Does Gojo think that every husband convicted of killing his wife got “shafted?” Cooper defended himself in the Wrongful Death Suit. That gave the prosecution six hours of video that could be (and was) used against him. The man was convicted by his own words and actions, Gojo, and not “shafted” at all. Or are you one of those who thinks Nancy Cooper deserved to die?

By the way, if you are considering approaching
any of the Brevard friends, I advise against it.

This is, of course, a reference to the “NC Wanted” cameraman who was pegged with a basketball when filming an attempted interview with Jason during a basketball game in Brevard. The infamous “You came here for THAT?” quote dates from then. As an aside, has anyone been keeping track of Gojo’s threats? I know of one poster at Friction Powered who lost her job because of Gojo, and a few more who felt very threatened. Plus a couple of reporters felt the heat. Gojo was a veritable threat factory for a while, there. Good to know he’s consistent in some things…

Law enforcement will screw you. Don’t forget that.
The right thing to do is to protect yourself and force
the cops to search diligently for the killers. In this case,
law enforcement settled for the easy arrest.

O geez! Still on that old kick, eh Gojo? You couldn’t be more wrong. The police did search diligently. That’s why it took three years to arrest the killer, and four and a half to come to trial. Are all Mountain Men so paranoid? Does that come from years of dodging “Revenuers?” Did they get your still, Gojo? Is that why you have to protect yourself?
Say, Scout, IF Jason is declared not guilty,
would he be able to return to court and have
the judgment about the $15 million and about
his daughter reversed? Maybe we have a lawyer
reading here who can tell us.

Gojo, Jason had an opportunity to defend himself in both the civil trial and the custody case, but chose not to. There might be an opportunity to appeal, but he won’t get an automatic do-over.

However, as Jason is guilty as hell, this particular point is moot.

The Trial Draws Near

Jury selection in the trial of Jason Young commences on May 31, 2011. It has been a long 4 1/2 years from Michelle’s death to this point. Many of us have exhausted ourselves on myriad message boards, defending her mother and sister against the accusations of Gojo and others who would throw anyone under the bus. Gojo viciously attacked anyone with the temerity to state an opinion that Jason was guilty of this crime, and yet he is about to be tried for it. People’s jobs have been threatened and, in some cases, actually been lost in Gojo’s quest to silence critics of his Golden Boy, Jason Lynn Young.

Since Jason’s arrest in December of 2009, poor old Gojo has been sadly missing from the boards he monitored day and night before that. Only occasional forays onto the internet and the lack of an obituary in the local Brevard newspaper have served to assure us that John Goins is still in the land of the living. One thing is for sure: even if the Rapture had happened on Saturday, John Goins would have been left behind with the rest of us non-believers. No true believer could publicly libel the mother and sister of a murder victim to the extent he did.

We were gratified to hear, last week, that one of the missing links in the chain of evidence connecting Jason Lynn Young to the murder of his pregnant wife has emerged and will be admitted at trial. A convenience store clerk along the road between Hillsville (where Jason said he was) and Raleigh (where he really was) remembered and identified Jason as the person who paid $20 for $15 worth of gas in the wee hours of the day Michelle was killed. He must have been under a lot of stress to cuss out the clerk because he had to go into the store to pay with cash, not to mention that he drove off without claiming his change. Why did he pay with cash, you may ask, when he had made all his other gas purchases with credit? Of course, the obvious answer is that he didn’t want anyone to know he bought more gas than he needed for one trip from Raleigh to Hillsville. Had to sneak that in there, as he actually made two trips.

So. Will Gojo emerge again once the trial starts, or has he finally come to believe that his friend just might be guilty after all?

Inquiring minds want to know.
