Gojo Bloviates

November 16, 2007

Am I the only one who objects to WRAL exploiting
a 3-year-old child? I think WRAL aired the videos of Cassie
and her mom for one reason: to increase ratings.
No one there certainly thought about the innocent child.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Didn’t you like the videos, Gojo?  Why not?  Those lovely pictures of a beautiful mom in loving interaction with her beloved baby girl?  Is your middle name Ebenezer?  Or do you still have a vestige of a conscience and “I uv oo, Mommy,” eats at your gut?  That child who will never hear that lovely voice again, and will never again have a Mommy to say that to?  Does that get to you, Gojo?
Ratings?  Please!  There’s a lot more at stake here than ratings!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Did no one else feel a little creepy as you watched the videos?
I did. I felt like a voyeur peeping through a window
at the private lives of Michelle and Cassie.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I enjoyed getting a tiny glimpse into the conversation between mother and daughter.  I see nothing creepy or inappropriate there.  A good question might be, “Why do you feel creepy?”  Jason can feel free to post his own videos of him interacting with Cassie.  Let’s get a look-see at what a great dad Jason is.  By the way, where was Jason when those videos were taken?  Was he weilding the camera?  Or was that Linda?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I know Jason did not give WRAL the right to publish
those private moments. Yes, I know. The video tapes
belong to Mrs. Fisher. But the right to protect
his daughter’s privacy, and his murdered wife’s privacy,
belongs to Jason. WRAL should have had the decency to get
Jason’s permission before airing the videos.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Why the heck should WRAL need Jason’s permission?  Michelle’s right to privacy ended with her death.  Jason is going to have enough to answer to Cassidy for, if he manages to escape arrest, without needing to explain that he tried to persuade a TV station to hide images of herself and her mother.  The only privacy Jason has any interest in protecting is his own.
I’ve yet to figure out what is “exploitive” (sic) about WRAL running those images.  I am just sure that their circulation just leapt into the stratosphere over those pictures (sarcasm)!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I think the only decent thing for WRAL to do is to pull
the videos and apologize for exploiting a child
and murdered mother. If anyone else agrees, I reckon
he can write to WRAL and tell the station manager.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I don’t agree.  I think that anything that keeps some public focus on this case helps to solve it.  Being quiet for a year has not done any good.  Maybe a change of tactic is in order.
