they actually believe the stories told about Jason.

Still trying to decide if you’re so gullible you actually believe the stories told by Jason (and his mother). 

 A second alternative…. for reasons of their own, some
posters deliberately spread lies about Jason.

For reasons of his own (and we know what they are), some troll deliberately spreads lies about Jason.

 Not really important, I reckon, unless the cops buy into the lies.

Cops rarely “buy into” lies.  They are trained, dumbass, to tell lies from truth.

 Then someday the cops might be terribly embarrassed when the
truth outs.

Which is one reason why they don’t “buy into” lies.

And yes, I have been told that I don’t know the ‘real’ Jason. Cow patty.

Gojo, he moved away and his repressed small-town personality was shed like an outgrown skin.

A case in point is the purple stuff lie. After all the giggling died
down, many posters obviously chose to believe the lie.

Interesting, that of all the stories spread around, this is the one you choose to address.  Perhaps because it casts a less-than-flattering light on Pat?  

Tonight, I heard the real story. Nothing at all like the lie BS has spread.
He really ought to check his sources for these stories.

No, I won’t try to tell the real story. I know the reaction to expect.
I don’t mind BS believing whatever he wants to believe. He’s not
important. 

Neither are you.   

If the cops should ever want the true stories, they know who to see.

Unfortunately, he’s not talking…
