Did Gojo Write Shakespeare?
A poster called “macduff” has always brought out the Shakespeare in Gojo. Of course, “Macbeth” is bound to be the source of most of the quotes that fly around.
Since the second trial of Json Young began last week, ol’ Gojo can’t help putting his miserable two cents worth into the discussion.
His heart doesn’t seem to be really in it, though, except for this bit:
For brave Macgojo (well he deserves that name)
Disdaining Fortune, with his brandish’d steel,
Which smoked with bloody execution,
Like valour’s minion,
Carv’d out his passage.
–Gojo
An awesome quote about Macbeth. It describes how Macbeth conducted himself in battle, fighting under the banner of the king he was shortly to murder in cold blood. At this point in the play, we have not yet met the narcissist Lady Macbeth, and her lord and master could still turn out to be a good guy. Gojo identifies with this character. I wonder how well he likes him by the end of the play, when he says this:
I will not yield,
To kiss the ground before young Malcolm’s feet,
And to be baited with the rabble’s curse.
Though Birnam wood be come to Dunsinane,
And thou opposed, being of no woman born,
Yet I will try the last. Before my body
I throw my warlike shield. Lay on, Macduff,
And damn’d be him that first cries, ‘Hold, enough!’
I wonder how old Gojo really is!
