Deflection Detection
Why are you and others, Scout, hung up on the idea of rape? Why not consensual? Any semen? Any knife wounds? Any bite marks? All the missing teeth accounted for? Any indication of two or more weapons? Who knows what was missed?
–Gojo
Hummmm. What do you think, Scout? Doesn’t Spivey seem kinda young to be put out to pasture like that? Promotion or demotion? I was impressed with Spivey’s conduct when I met him. Later he seemed to be under someone else’s influence. He changed.
–Gojo
Just a couple of recent posts from the Goje-Man at FPX. Since the Death Penalty was taken out of the mix, Gojo has returned to his weeping and wailing about anyone and everyone, involved or not involved, in this case.
To insist that the absence of a rape kit at autopsy (still beating that dead horse, eh, Gojo?) means anything in this case is to clutch at straws. To imply that Michelle might have had consensual sex with her killer is outrageous! Rather than admit the obvious, we are asked to accept the idea that a woman five months pregnant would be having an affair with a murderer! What a low opinion Gojo must have of women! Or is he implying that Michelle had an affair and Jason caught her “in the act” and killed her? Either way, sliming the reputation of a dead woman with not even a hint of evidence is truly a new low for the retired teacher, John Goins of Brevard, NC.
ETA: I almost missed the bit about “any indication of two or more weapons.” Is Gojo seriously suggesting that Michelle had consensual sex with “two or more” people who subsequently killed her? That puts Gojo’s new low even lower!
No matter how he tries to spin it, Sgt. Spivey’s promotion is just that; a promotion. He is now out of the investigative branch of the WCSO. He no longer has to view crime scenes such as Michelle’s and investigate scumsuckers like Jason and his roadblock-throwing cronies. No more will he be called out of his home at all hours to look at and detail horrific murders. Now he takes charge of Courthouse Security and a whole flock of bailiffs. Congratulations, Sgt Spivey.
The sergeant changed, did he? Possibly because (if he ever actually spoke to him) he thought Gojo was a reasonable human being, at first. Later, after he learned about Gojo’s attempts to discredit him, the entire WSCO, the SBI, the victim’s family, and anyone else who thought Jason might be other than a pure mountain boy scout, he got wise.
You bring it on yourself, Gojo. I’m not sure I could be civil to you, at this point, and I am truly a very nice person. You, I would like to gag with a chainsaw.
Stubborn Old Coot!

Thanks, Scout. As I said before, I don’t know much
about the legal system. I raised the possibility of immunity and ‘quashing’ as something the DA might use
as an excuse for not going to trial. He might also use
the SBI troubles as an excuse to kick Jason loose.
If I remember correctly, the total focus of the investigation
changed when the SBI became involved in Feb. ’08.
–Gojo
Gojo, the DA does not need an excuse to release Jason. If any evidence were to emerge that exonerated him, he would be released pronto.
Here is RPD’s account of the SBI “troubles,” to which you refer:
Nice try Gojo. I don’t recall seeing any SW’s executed by the SBI?
For your information, SBI agent Tart joined Spivey in the fall of 2007 as “another set of eyes”. He was there to help WSCO, not to take over the investigation. The FBI, not SBI, produced the Hushpuppy shoe match that gave Spivey and WCSO the primary PC to raid Brevard and Etowah Valentines Day 2008.
The only issue with the SBI has been their past protocol on reporting results of blood stain evidence at a crime scene. There was a recent appeal case that showed apparent blood on a vehicle was confirmed in preliminary field tests, yet further lab tests proved it was not blood (1993). This crucial finding was withheld from the defense at trial.
Of course, the DA is now required by law to turn over every single piece of evidence (including SBI bench notes) to the defense. Impossible for a similar miscarriage of justice to reoccur.
Sounds like Gojo is hoping Manny can create some reasonable doubt by assassinating the SBI, CCBI, NCME and WCSO. If that is the primary defense strategy, bring it on.
Talk about a slam dunk case for the prosecution.
Thanks for the clarification, RPD.
In some weird way, it’s kind of cute that Gojo still defends Jason. I am in awe at his stubbornness in the face of Jason’s actions and the huge body of evidence accumulated over the past three and a half years. He’s still looking for the “real killers” to confess. “Ain’t gonna be no trial” is still his mantra.
I do have to wonder if he is on autopilot while his mind wanders the fields of memory, back to the halcyon days when Jason looked to him as a father figure and drank in his wisdom like Spring rain.

What, no one wants to talk to the surfgirl?
Well, she makes sense occasionally.
I took her advice and about 3 years ago
consulted two different seers. The message
was the same. The real killers will be charged
and will confess.
–Gojo
Consulting seers, Gojo? How does that fit with your “mountain man” persona? How does that fit with “that old-time religion?”
The real killer has been charged, and will probably never confess. I hope he does, though. I would love to hear his statement. Still, I think he will just sit silent through his very expensive capital murder trial, stonefaced.
“Surfgirl” makes much more sense than Gojo!
Poor Gojo…
